    Hassan: Hello, Rana حَسَن : السّلامُ عليكم يا رَنا
    Rana: Hello, Hassan! رَنا : وعلْيكُم السَّلام يا حَسَن
    Hassan: How are you today? حَسَن : كيْفَ حالُكِ اليَوْم؟
    Rana: I am doing well, and you? رَنا : أنا بِخَيْر، الحَمدُ للهِ، وَأنْتَ؟
    Hassan: I am doing great, thank you. Which university do you attend? حَسَن : أنا جَيْد، شُكْراً. أيْنَ تَدْرُسين؟
    Rana: I am a student at the University of Baghdad. What about you? رَنا : أَدرُسُ في جامِعَةِ بَغْداد، وأَنْتَ؟
    Hassan: I am a student at the University of California – Los Angeles. حَسَن : أَدْرُسُ في جامِعَةِ وِلايَةِ كاليفورنيا لوس أنْجلوس
    Rana: What are you studying, Hassan? رَنا : ماذا تَدْرُسُ يا حَسن؟

    Hassan: I live with my friends - Ahmad, Tom, and Jack - in a small apartment. حَسَن : أَنا أَسْكُنُ معَ صَديقي أَحْمَد وَتَوم وجاك في شقة صغيرة
    Rana: Are you employed? رَنا : هل تَعمَل؟
    Hassan: I am unemployed and am a full-time student. What about you? حَسَن : لا أعْمَلُ، أنا طالِب، وأنْتِ؟

    Hello! Welcome to your Arabic language class. My name is Doctor Zaid Ahmad and I have received my doctorate degree in the Arabic language. I study at the University of California – San Bernadino. I am originally from Najaf, Iraq and am also bilingual; I speak both Arabic and English. My office is in the College of Humanities and Liberal Arts, directly before the College of Sciences. I am married with children: one son and one daughter. My wife is also Iraqi - from the city of Baghdad - and is a professor of chemistry. My son, Rasool, is a student at the University of California – San Francisco, and he is studying English literature. My daughter, Ayat, is a student at the University of California – Fullerton, and she is studying computer science. We live in the city of Pomona.

I study the Arabic language three days out of the week: Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. I am also trilingual: I know Arabic, English, and Spanish. I enjoy playing sports on the weekend.
