In this section, you will be able to:

    • Derive the root words from given words.
    • Learn these verbs (to do, to read and to write)

    Grammar Note: Roots الجذور

    • Arabic words are derived from a simple root words "root" جذر set of sequence of consonants letters that contain the base meaning of the word.
    • The root is the three important letters in the word.
    • The Arabic dictionaries are organized according to the roots. For example, to find out the meaning of an Arabic word in the dictionary, you have to find the root of that word.
    • Every Arabic word (noun, verb, adjective, etc) has a root of three letters.
    • For example, from the three-letter root ك-ت-ب, all of these words are derived, and many more as well. الكتت، الكتاب، مكتبة، الكتابة، يكتب، تكتبون، كاتب، مكاتب، كتيب
