    Days of the week أيّام الأسبوع

    Day means يَوم in Arabic, and the name of each day is added to the word day in Arabic. Example:  يَوم السَّبت

     How the days derived from numbers

    •  The first day of the week is الأحد. It is derived from the number One واحد.
    • The second day of the week is الاثنين. It is derived from the number Two اثنين.
    • The third day of the week is الثلاثاء. It is derived from the number three ثلاثة.
    • The fourth day of the week is الأربعاء. It is derived from the number four أربعة.
    • The fifth day of the week is الخميس. It is derived from the number five خمسة.
    • The sixth day of the week is الجمعة. It is not derived from any number, but from the verb to gather.
    • The seventh day of the week is السبت. It is derived from the number six ستَّة.
