    Read the passage describing the locations of places and buildings.

    This text is about the city of Beirut. After listening, you will read the text to reinforce your understanding. Beirut is a city rich in history, culture, and natural beauty. You will learn about some of its most famous landmarks, such as the sea, mountains, and famous places in the city.

    مَدينَةُ بَيْروت

    تقعُ مدينَةُ بَيْروت في لُبنان، وهي واحِدَةٌ من المُدُن العربيةِ المشهورَة. يقع نهرُ بيروت شرقَ مدينَةِ بيروت. يقعُ البحر الأبيض المتوسط غرب مدينَةِ بيروت. تقعُ غابةُ الأرز شمالَ شرقِ مدينَةِ بيروت. تقع بحيرةُ القرعون جنوبَ شرقِ بيروت في منطقة البقاع، وهي بعيدة 80 كيلو متراً مِنْ مدينَةِ بيروت. يقعُ مطار بيروت الدولي جنوبَ بيروت، واسمهُ مطار رفيق الحريريّ الدولي ، وهو قريبٌ 9 كيلومتراتٍ من المدينة. يقعُ البنكُ المركزيّ اللبنانيُ غربَ بيروت، واسمه مَصْرَف لبنان، وهو قريبٌ من شارع الحمرا المشهور. يقعُ منتزهُ رينيه معوض غربَ مدينةِ بيروت. يقعُ هذا المنتزهُ الكبيرُ في منطقةِ الصنائع، وهو قريبٌ من شارع الحمرا. في بيروت مطاعم ومقاهي قريبة من البحر وهي مزدحمةٌ دائماً. يقعُ مطعمُ برج الحَـمَـام غربَ بيروت في منطقة عين المريسة، وقريبٌ من البحر الأبيض المتوسط، هذا المطعمُ مشهورٌ بالأكلِ اللبناني. أيضاً يقعُ فندق فينيسيا الرائع غربَ مدينة بيروت، وفيه مسبحٌ ونادي رياضي ومطعمٌ، ويقع الفندقُ في منطقة المنارة، وهو قريبٌ من المطار. يقعُ جامِعُ محمَّد أمين وسطَ المدينةِ في ساحَةِ الشُّهداء. أيضاً تقعُ كَنيسَةُ مارجرجس الكاثوليكية وَسط مَدينَةِ بيروت، وهي قريبَة مِنْ جامِع محمَّد أمين، وهي قديمَةٌ ومَشهورةٌ في لُبْنان.
