In ancient Greece we witness the creation of democracy, theater, science, math, astronomy, medicine, philosophy, and advanced aesthetics in sculpture and architecture. This is not to say that other western regions of learning and study, such Babylon and Egypt were bereft of science and art. Greece took the gods out of the sky and replaced them with physical forms that they observed and documented the movements of these celestial bodies. With democracy, we often see the creative energies of humans amplified. That is certainly true of Athens, the center of ancient Greek art and architecture.
