You do not want to pause to write complete sentences or check spelling and grammar. The whole point is to jot down as many ideas as you can about the topic. This is the process of generating ideas spontaneously without distractions or interruptions. Once you have all your ideas, you could start grouping similar ideas together to come up with a thesis statement or topic sentences.
