Just when you were getting the hang of conjugating -ar verbs in the present tense, along comes another set of conjugations that you have to learn! The good news about regular -er and -ir verbs is that they’re regular. Which means that once you get the pattern down, you can conjugate any regular -er or -ir verb you might come across. Here again, though, it’s a good idea to memorize phrases, rather than trying to recreate the whole conjugation chart when you need a verb.
All these verbs might make you want to run away, but remember: you can’t run without the -er verbs. And, as you’ll see, you can’t live without the -ir verbs.
