    Check Your Understanding

    • Choose two modes of transportation from the vocabulary list (e.g., سَفينَة and ترام). Write 2-3 sentences comparing and contrasting them.
      • Example: السَّفينَةُ أَكبرُ مِن التِّرامِ، ولكن التِّرامَ أَسرَعُ وَيُساعِدُ في التَّنَقُّلِ داخلَ المَدينةِ.
    • Discuss the following question with your classmates or write your response individually:
      • هل تحبُّ أن تسافرَ إلى مدينة جديدة كيف ستسافر؟ ولماذا؟
    • Give a short presentation in Arabic describing your favorite mode of transportation. In 4–5 sentences, talk about:
      • What it is and where you use it.
      • Why you like it.
      • Pros and cons of using it.
      • When and how often you use it.

Use the vocabulary from this unit and phrases for giving opinions. Example: أُفَضِّل الطائرة لأنها سريعة، ولكنها غالية أحيانًا. أستخدمها في السفر إلى بلدان بعيدة.

    • Imagine you are designing a new public transportation system for your city. Answer the following questions:
      • What types of transportation will you include (e.g., مترو الأنفاق، ترام، قِطار) and why?
      • How will you ensure the system is efficient and accessible for everyone?
      • Write 5-6 sentences describing your system and its benefits.

    Role-play

Weekend Travel Planning: You and a friend are planning a weekend trip to a nearby city. In Arabic, have a conversation to decide:

    • How will you travel (car, train, bus, etc.)?
    • What time will you leave?
    • Why do you prefer that transportation option?

Record a 2–3 minute conversation in Arabic. Each person should speak at least twice. Use vocabulary from the transportation unit and expressions of opinion and preference.
