Ancient Egypt is one of the most fascinating civilizations and one that was the envy of the civilized world in its time. Although for Westerners, the imagery and beliefs of the ancient Egyptians appears quite foreign, the monumentality and longevity of this civilization, and first world empire, stands as a testament to the power of the rulers and the satisfaction of the everyday Egyptians. Situated along the Nile River, Ancient Egypt benefited from the regular nutrient-rich river flooding providing for stable harvests for millennia. Imagine, Ancient Egypt remained stable for almost 3,000 years. This is unprecedented in world history. Because of this, they created some of the most enduring monumental works of art. The Egyptians weren't going anywhere and had a love for their life, harmony, balance and culture embodied in the goddess Ma'at.
