    Hello my friend,

First off, I just wanted to see how you have been recently. I know that you don’t have the best support around you, but you have people here for you. I want to let you know that you matter, and nothing can change that. I can’t say that I have dealt with what you have gone through, but I’m here for you if you need anything. Even if you just need someone to vent to, I can be that person. You will never be a burden to me no matter the circumstances. No matter what happens, I believe you. I know others say this is for attention, but I know that is not true. It can be hard sometimes when it feels like nobody is listening to you, so I want to reiterate that I am here for you at any time.

Mental health issues are a growing problem today and must be taken more seriously. Just because it an issue that cannot physically be seen does not mean that it is not urgent. The statistics back this up. 1 in 5 adults in the U.S have experienced mental health issues. While this statistic may show that mental health issues have been getting worse over the years, I view this as a good thing because more people are being diagnosed. Many years ago, there were probably people with mental health issue, but because society deemed it as taboo, many people refused to get diagnosed. This is why I view it a good thing because people are recognizing they have an issue and trying to fix it.

A problematic mental space is an issue in itself, but it could also lead to other issues. I’m not saying that it will be easy, in fact, it will be difficult. You will have to make some decisions that others do not necessarily agree with, but you need to focus on what will help you. Unfortunately, some relationships may deteriorate, but those people are not your true friends. You have had to start this journey on healing by yourself with no support and I don’t think I could do that with a smile on my face like you have.

Many people are affected by mental health issues whether it is someone they know or themselves, so it Is not just a trend that will go away. There are many different ways to help combat this. One way is to focus on your physical health. I know that there are times when I have felt down and when I start to improve my physical health, my mental health also improves. It doesn’t have to be much, but just something to take your mind of things for a bit. Another strategy is to talk to a professional. I know sometimes it is looked down upon as if you are weak for doing this, but I think this is a sign of a strong person. You recognize that something is off, so you go talk to someone that knows how to deal with it. As much as I can help, I am not a professional in this subject. If you need to seek professional help, I will gladly help you find someone.

I will keep you in my thoughts and want you to know that I am there for you as well as many others. You are not alone.

    Sincerely,

    Your friend Joshua
