- Draw one color wheel, using your non-photo blue pencil on each sketchbook page.
- Draw lightly!
- Do not work on both sides of your pages!
- Blow dry to make sure the paint is dry before going to the next page.
- List the pigments used for each color using your micron pen.
- Indicate which colors are primary, secondary, tertiary.
- You may use the design scheme below for your color wheels or design your own.
Create Your Three Color Wheels
Color combinations for each composition are listed below. Do not use white to lighten.
- Create Color Wheel #1 limiting your colors to:
- cadmium red
- cadmium yellow
- ultramarine blue
- Create Color Wheel #2 limiting your colors to:
- cadmium red
- cadmium yellow
- thalo blue
- Create Color Wheel #3 using the following colors:
- Alizarine crimson
- cadmium red
- cadmium yellow
- ultramarine blue
- thalo blue
Mixing tips:
- Primary red = cadmium red
- Primary blue = ultramarine + small touch of thalo blue
- Primary yellow = cadmium yellow
- Alizarine crimson + ultramarine blue = purple
- Cadmium red + cadmium yellow = orange
- Cadmium yellow + thalo blue = green - do not use thalo green
