    Summit

    By now you may be wondering what "Summit" is, as it has been mentioned several times. CCC Library shares our catalog with 38 other Summit libraries from all over the Pacific Northwest, and you can borrow items from them. Neat, huh? Requesting a book is as easy as clicking a button - and there are millions of items to choose from!

    This also means that you will see many items in our catalog that aren't at CCC. If you open the record and it is unavailable (because it is out or because we don't own it) you will see a link to request it through Summit.

    Request from Summit link

    Once you select the Request from Summit link, a box will appear. You don't need to fill out any more information, but if you are not signed in yet, you will be asked to do so. Learn more about Summit(opens in new window).

    Summit items usually take between 2-5 days to arrive and you can choose your pick-up location, either at CCC Library (Oregon City) or Harmony East Front Desk (Harmony).

    Interlibrary Loan (ILL)

    CCC Library's catalog does not have access to articles from the 37 Summit libraries' collections, but they are listed in the catalog. To request a free article that CCC Library does not have access to, you will use Interlibrary Loan (ILL).(opens in new window) Articles will be emailed to you in 1-4 days.

    ILL can also be used to request books that are unavailable at CCC or through Summit. These items take 7-10 days to arrive.

    Pro tip: If you have found an article on Google Scholar, but they want you to pay money - stop! Put an ILL request for the article instead. No need to pay for something you can get for free!

    Both ILL and Summit items take time to arrive, so give your self plenty of time to research!
