Hay solamente diez números ordinales en español.
Los números ordinales
primero ~ first
segundo ~ second
tercero ~ third
cuarto ~ fourth
quinto ~ fifth
sexto ~ sixth
séptimo ~ seventh
octavo ~ eighth
noveno ~ ninth
décimo ~ tenth
Después de estos diez números ordinales, se utilizan los números cardinales que ya estudiamos. Por ejemplo:
- la primera estudiante ~ the first student
- el octavo libro ~ the eighth book
- la página veinticinco ~ page twenty-five
- cincuenta perros ~ fifty dogs
Los números ordinales son adjetivos y tienen que concordar en género y número con el sustantivo que describen.
- la segunda clase ~ the second class
- el séptimo gato ~ the seventh cat
Los números ordinales primero y tercero pierden su o final ante un sustantivo masculino singular.
