Abre el mundo is a beginning level Spanish textbook focused on giving students the vocabulary and grammar they need in order to complete communicative tasks. Grammar is introduced through examples and through basic explanations. Links to outside websites are provided for students who wish to access more in depth explanations in English. The language lab consists of learning logs that guide the students in crafting their own journey in learning by using what is already available online. The following areas are addressed in the learning logs: grammar, vocabulary, listening, pronunciation, writing and culture. Students will expand their cultural competency through an exploration of substantially authentic materials.
