    New Present Tense Verbs

    New Verb (to live)

    You will learn a new verb in the table below. The verb  سكن means in English "to live." Listen and practice saying and using these forms in conversation.

    I live in an old house. أَسْكُنُ في بيتٍ قَديم I Live أَسْكُنُ

    We live in a new house. نَسْكُنُ في بيتٍ جديد We Live نَسْكُنُ

    Do you live in a house or an apartment, Oh Ben? هَل تَسْكُنُ في بيتٍ أو شقةٍ، يا بِنْ؟ You Live (Masculine/ Singular) تَسْكُنُ

    Do you live in a house or an apartment, Oh Tina? هَل تَسْكُنين في بيتٍ أو شقةٍ، يا تينا؟ You Live (Feminine/ Singular) تَسْكُنِين 

    Do you live at the dorm, oh Cuys? هَل تَسْكُنُون في بيتِ الطّلاب، يا شباب؟ You Live (all) تَسْكُنُون

    John lives with his family. يَسْكُنُ جون معَ أسْرَتِهِ He Lives يَسْكُنُ

    Rana lives with her family. تَسْكُنُ رنا معَ أسْرَتِهِا she Lives تَسْكُنُ

    John and Rana live with their family.   جون ورنا يَسْكُنُون  معَ أسْرَتِهِم They (all) Live يَسْكُنُون

    You will learn a new verb in the table below. The verb شرب means in English "to drink." Listen and practice saying and using these forms in conversation.

    Do you drink tea, Oh Ben? هَل تَشْرَبُ شاي، يا بِنْ؟ You Drink (Masculine/ Singular) تَشْرَبُ

    Do you drink coffee, Oh Tina? هَل تَشْرَبين قهوَة، يا تينا؟ You Drink (Feminine/ Singular) تَشْرَبين 

    Do you drink coffee, oh Guys? هَل تَشْرَبُون قَهْوَة، يا شباب؟ You Drink (all) تَشْرَبُون

    John drinks Arabic coffee. يَشْرَبُ جون قَهْوَة عَرَبيَّة He Drinks يَشْرَبُ

    Rana drinks Arabic coffee. تَشْرَبُ رنا قَهْوَة عَرَبيَّة she Drinks تَشْرَبُ

    John and Rana drink American coffee.   جون ورنا يَشْرَبُون قَهْوَة أمْريكيَّة They (all) Drink يَشْرَبُون

    New Verb (To Watch) 

    You will learn a new verb in the table below. The verb شاهد means in English "to Watch." Listen and practice saying and using these forms in conversation.

    Example meaning in English Example English Meaning Arabic Meaning Audio
    I watch the TV. أَشاهِدُ التَّلفِزيون I Watch أُشاهِدُ

    We watch the TV in my brother's room. نُشاهِدُ التِّلفزيون في غرفةِ أخي We Watch نُشاهِدُ

    Do you watch TV, Oh Ben? هَل تُشاهِدُ التِّلفزيون، يا بِنْ؟ You Watch (Masculine/ Singular) تُشاهِدُ

    Do you watch TV, Oh Tina? هَل تُشاهِدين التِّلفزيون، يا تينا؟ You Watch (Feminine/ Singular) تُشاهِدين 

    Do you watch the movie at the cinema (theater), oh Guys? هَل تُشاهِدُون الفيلم في السِّينَما، يا شباب؟ You Watch (all) تُشاهِدُون

    John watches the movie at the theater (cinema). يُشاهِدُ جون الفيلم في السِّينَما He Watches يُشاهِدُ

    Rana watches Arabic movie (film). تُشاهِدُ رنا فيلم عَربيّ she Watches تُشاهِدُ

    John and Rana watch American movie.   جون ورنا يُشاهِدُون فيلم أمْريكيّ They (all) Watch يُشاهِدُون

    Interrogative words أدوات الاستفهام

    In the Arabic language, interrogative words are important words used to inquire about things. To achieve that, each interrogative should be used in its appropriate place.
