When you are finished, leave your plan alone for a day or so, and then work on it again a little. Planning is very important, so do this well before you start the draft.
Tips:
1. Take notes or highlight Anderson’s text.
2. Fill out steps 2 and 3 above.
3. Think about the differences between the terms and how they relate to each other for at least a day after tips 1 and 2. Now, fill out the game plan.
4. Have the game plan ready for class next week on XXX. Post it in Brightspace for others to comment on.
5. When you are ready to draft, use a block structure—Word 1 first, then Word 2—the order is up to you depending on your overall point. Which word makes sense for you to start with?
6. You should about four paragraphs in the first draft—a 3-5 sentence intro, a body paragraph for racism, a body paragraph for hate, and a conclusion that brings the comparison and contrast together (about 4-6 sentences). Point out in the conclusion why understanding the difference is important.
