As referenced on the previous page, pitches are unique in their frequencies. For example, middle C (C4) is not the same pitch as the C an octave higher (C5).
However, we can group pitches together into pitch classes. These groups will put all of the Cs together as a class, all of the Ds together as a class, etc.
For the sake of this text, pitch classes will be used. You should choose to sing the melodies in the range that is comfortable for you. If the note in the melody is a C, you may choose to sing a C in any octave.
