    This project, created by student writers at Pima Community College, comes out of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals Open Pedagogy Fellowship, sponsored by Montgomery College, with participants from higher education institutions across North America.

    The team that developed the renewable assignments that students created for this LibreText consisted of an international social work professor from Thompson Rivers University, a women's and gender studies professor from Montgomery College, and a writing instructor from Pima Community College. Together, we crafted relevant assignments that our students feel inspired to share, and that we, as readers, can feel inspired by when we read them.

    We hope you enjoy looking at local and global issues, as we experience them in Pima County, Arizona, and finding connections with the ways that you experience them, wherever you are in the world. And most of all, we hope we all carry forward the inspiration to bring about change.
