Textbooks
There is one textbook used as resources for this class along with this coursepack. It is available for free through the Cosumnes River College library.

Supplies
Acrylic Paint
Note: Do not buy heavy bodied paint unless you can’t get the color in medium bodied paint. It has too much texture for design projects. I recommend purchasing large economy tubes.
- Reds:
- Cadmium red medium – do not get the hue version, it is too transparent
- Alizarine crimson
- Yellows:
- Cadmium yellow medium - do not get the hue version, it is too transparent
- Yellow ochre
- Blues:
- Pthalo blue
- Ultramarine blue
- Green:
- Pthalo green
- Brown:
- Burnt umber
- Burnt sienna
- Black:
- Mars black – other blacks are fine
- White:
- Titanium white (large size) - you may need another large tube in the middle of the semester
- Satin medium & varnish – Do not get gel, liquid is best. 1 pint recommended
Additional Materials:
- Two flat watercolor brushes ½” and 1”
- One round watercolor brush #6
- Mixing Palette 12" x 16" paper palette
- Palette knife for mixing paint – trowel type best
- Large plastic water container: Tall enough for all brushes to stand
- Roll of paper towels
- Baby wipes for wiping hands, tables, and brushes
- Roll 3/4” Painter’s Tape
- Large glue stick
- Xacto Knife
- HB (#2) Pencil
- Non-photo blue pencil
- Staedtler Mars plastic eraser
- Pigma Micron Pen black .45 mm
- Ruler 18” – metal is best

- Strathmore Bristol Board Pad (vellum) 14” x 17”
- Canson Mixed Media Pad (60 sheets) 9” x 12”
- Two sheets Canson Presentation Board, Pearl (tan) color, 16” x 20”
- Drawing Board larger than 14” x 17”, no larger than 18” x 18”
- Portfolio (folder for work presentation) 17” x 22” - must be able to fit in the locker
