SLO-Direct an argument or explanation to the designated audience; Establish a clear framework of essay and paragraph organization appropriate to the writing tasks and the thesis.

Intro: in this module, students will review the components of effective thesis statement writing in preparation for stating a clear, focused stance on a debatable issue in a written essay. This will include examining and critiquing examples of thesis statements and an opportunity to practice writing an argumentative thesis statement.
