You already know one verb form you can use to talk about what you did in the past. – the preterit. In this lesson you will learn another one. What do you think the difference is between these two sentences.
1) ¿Qué hiciste ayer?
2) ¿Qué hacías para celebrar La Navidad cuando eras niñ@?
What would the difference be that is conveyed between the different conjugations?
1) The first sentence is referring to something done once at a specific time. – The
preterit is used.
2) The second sentence is referring to something done habitually. - Another form is
used. It is called the imperfect. It is used in various contexts in the past. Right now
we will focus on its use to talk about habitual actions in the past and what things
used to be like.
