    Example \(\PageIndex{1}\)

    ¿Con qué frecuencia bailas?

    Yo bailo mucho.

    Exercise \(\PageIndex{1}\)
    • What do you think the above question is asking?
    • Do you see any words that remind you of English words?
    Answer

literally - With what frequency do you dance?

In other words… How often do you dance?

    Vocabulario

Do you know any frecuency words in Spanish?

    Here are a few:

    siempre always
    a veces sometimes
de vez en cuando once in a while
    nunca never
    casi nunca almost never
    todos los días everyday
cada dos días every other day
    Actividad comunicativa 2 - ¿Con qué frecuencia...?

With a partner, and using the list of common -ar verbs take turns asking each other how often you do different activities.

    Thinking about the grammar

    Note about nunca:

    ejemplos:

    Nunca dibujo.

    No dibujo nunca.

You can put ¨nunca¨ either before or after the verb. If you put it after, you have to put ¨no¨ before the verb. This is called a double negative

and is considered incorrect in some dialects of English. However, it is correct in Spanish.
