    Reading

Read the following conversation between John (A) and Rita (B), the secretary of Mr. Sau. Please note that half of the dialogue is in Khmer script and the other half is in English.

    A: ជម្រាបសួរ! ខ្ញុំឈ្មោះ ចន ។ ខ្ញុំជាអ្នកស្រាវជ្រាវមកពី ប្រទេសអាមេរិក។ សុំទោស! លោក សៅ នៅ[1]ទីនេះទេ?

B: Yes, he is. What can I help you with?

    A: អូ! ខ្ញុំចង់ជួបលោក សៅ ថ្ងៃនេះ។ លោក សៅ ទំនេរទេ?

B: Mr. Sau is busy. He is available this afternoon.

    A: អូ! ខ្ញុំសុំជួបលោក សៅ នៅ[2]ម៉ោងបួនរសៀលបានទេ?

    B: ចា! បាន

    A: Thank you!

After reading, answer the following questions.

    Query \(\PageIndex{1}\)

    1. When talking about where someone or something is situated, the verb “To be” is replaced by the word នៅ “at”.
    2. In colloquial speaking, the word នៅ "at" is dropped when talking about time, for example, "at 11 am" =នៅម៉ោង១២ព្រឹក or ម៉ោង១២ព្រឹក."
