Exercice II

For questions 3, 5, and 7 above, prepare at least two lull answers each, following the models in 4, 6, and 8. Your instructor may ask you to use just the first part of each one and have the class supply (guess at) the second part.

Exercice III

Contrasting present with past states, conditions, situations. We give the present situation or condition; you say what it used to be like (Read Reference Grammar, 6.2.2, and see the Verb Tables for verb forms you may need.)

Hier, je n'allais pas bien. OR ... j'étais malade.

Exercice IV

Make up five more situation/condition statements (as in Exercice III), both in the present ("today, this year," ...) and the past ("yesterday, last year," ...).
