Arabic language teacher is introducing his family to the students during a family lesson through a PowerPoint presentation.
الأستاذُ أياد هِلال
الأستاذُ أَياد: مَرحَباً بِكُم. دَرسُنا اليومُ عن العائلةِ. وَسَأَتَحدثُ لَكُم عَن عَائِلَتي
أَنا أياد هِلال، أَنا أُسْتاذ اللغةُ العربية ُفي جامعةِ لوس أنجُلوس فِي وِلايةِ كَاليفورنيا. جِنسيَتيّ عِراقي، وَأَسكنُ فِي مدينةِ لوس أنجُلوس، وَأَتَكلَّمُ اللّغةَ العربيّةَ وَاللّغةَ الإنجليزية. وَالدي عِراقي وَهُوَ مُهندسٌ. أَيضاً والِدِتي عِراقيةٌ وَهِي طِبيبَةٌ، وِيسكُنانِ فِي ولايةِ تَنسي. وَالدي رِجُلٌ حَكيمٌ وَوالِدَتي كَريمةٌ وَلَطيفةٌ. أنا الابنُ الوحيد في عائِلَتي. أنا متزوجٌ مِنْ سامية وَهي لُبنانيّةٌ، وَهي رَبَّةُ منزل، وَعِندي ابنٌ اسْمُهُ فادي وَعُمرهُ خَمسُ سَنوات، وَعندي أَقارِبٌ كَثيرون يَسكُنون فِي العِراق. يسكنُ خالي هاني مَعَ عائلتهِ في الإمارات. يَعملُ خَالي مُحامي و تعملُ زَوجَتهُ سعاد مُبرمِجةٌ في شركةِ كُمبيوتر

عائلةُ ندى
سارة: مَرْحَبًا يا نَدَى. كُلُّ عامٍ وَأَنْتِ بِخَيْر وَعِيدُ مِيلادٍ سَعِيدٍ
نَدَى: أَهْلًا بِكِ يا سارة. تَفَضَّلِي هذِهِ عَائِلَتِي. هَذَا وَالِدِي "الْحَاجُ أَبُو أَيْمَن" وَهُوَ تَاجِرُ سَيَّارَات وَهذِهِ وَالِدَتِي "أُمُّ أَيْمَن" وَهِيَ رَبَّةُ مَنْزِل. وَهَذا أَخِي أَيْمَن وَهُوَ مُمَرِّضٌ وَهذِهِ زَوْجَتُهُ سَمِيرَةُ. وَهِيَ أُسْتَاذَةٌ فِي جَامِعَةِ قَطَر. وَهذِهِ آيَات ابْنَةُ أَخِي وَهِيَ الْوَحِيدَةُ. وَهَذا عَمِّي بَاسِل وَهُوَ مُحَامي. وَهذِهِ زَوْجَتُهُ نُورَا وَهِيَ طَبِيبَةٌ. وَهَذَا ابْنُهُمَا سَامِي وَهُوَ طَالِبٌ فِي جَامِعَةِ دُبَيّ وَهُوَ يُوتُيُوبَر. وَهذِهِ خَالَتِي إِيمَان وَهِيَ صَحَفِيَّةٌ . وَهذِهِ ابْنَتُهَا لَيْلَى وَهِيَ طَالِبَةٌ جَامِعِيَّةٌ. وَهَذا ابْنُ خَالِي عَادِل وَهُوَ يَعْمَلُ مُهَنْدِسًا
سارة: مَا شَاءَ اللهُ، عَائِلَتُكِ كَبِيرَةٌ

Cultural Notes:
* الحاج أبو أيمن
In the Arab world, it is traditional to refer to Muslim fathers as "Hajj Abu __." It signifies that the individual has completes the Hajj and received the title “pilgrims”
* ما شاء الله
In Arab countries and the Muslim world, "Masha Allah" is a religious and cultural expression. "Masha Allah" is composed of two Arabic words: "Ma" and "Shaa" The phrase is regarded as an expression of praise for God Almighty.
* الحمد الله
"Praise be to Allah" is a religious phrase used in Islam to give thanks to Allah Almighty. It is made up of two Arabic words: "praise" and "to God. " "Praise be to Allah" is a popular religious phrase in Islamic culture. It can be used in many different ways.
