1.5: Art as Concept

( \newcommand{\kernel}{\mathrm{null}\,}\)

This video is a conversation with Sal Khan & Steven Zucker about regarding the artist, Duchamp, and the art movement, Dada, examining art as a concept.

The only definition of “readymade” published under the name of Marcel Duchamp (“MD” to be precise) [is found] in Breton and Eluard’s Dictionnaire abrégé du Surréalisme: “an ordinary object elevated to the dignity of a work of art by the mere choice of an artist.”

—Hector Obalk
