    Two Types of Transportation

    Nowadays, people strongly rely on transportation to accommodate their busy lives. There are many different / difference methods of transportation. When it comes to commuting decisions, people usually choose what works best for them. The two most popular means of transportation are public and personal. However, there are several differences between using public transportation and driving one’s own car.

    One major difference between public and personal transportation is the cost. Most public transportation fares are inexpensive. In addition, there are discounts for children, students, and seniors. Also, by using public transportation, an individual does not have to worry about gas cost, tolls and parking expenses. Unlike /On the other hand, owning a vehicle can be expensive. In addition to buying or leasing a car, one has to worry about maintenance, repairs, and insurance depending on the type and age of the vehicle. Overall, taking public transportation is less expensive than driving one’s own car.

    Another difference between using public transportation and driving one’s own car is convenience. Public transportation may cause some inconvenience due to its limited schedule. Furthermore, taking public transportation limits a person’s mobility as it is usually not a door-to-door service. On the contrary / Different from, driving a car is convenient; a person can drive it anytime and anywhere he wants. In addition, there is no need to worry about a set schedule. Indeed, driving one’s own vehicle is more convenient than taking public transportation.

    Finally, the level of stress one experiences when either driving a personal car or taking public transportation is different. Public transportation eases the amount of stress and anxiety that a person endures. One does not have to worry about getting stuck in traffic or finding a parking spot when using public transportation. Instead, an individual can relax, read a book, or do some work while commuting. In today’s busy world, having some time to unwind and relax is priceless. Unlike / However taking public transportation, driving a personal vehicle can be very stressful. One has to deal with traffic, other drivers’ errors and bad weather conditions which can cause stress and anxiety.

    In conclusion, using public and personal transportation can have its own pros and cons; however, there are a few key differences that should be taken into consideration. The main differences between using public transportation and driving one’s own car are cost, convenience and stress. Using public transportation might be a better choice for an individual residing and/or working in a city. Similarly / In contrast, driving a personal vehicle can be a better alternative for a person living in the suburbs. Before deciding between public and personal transportation, people should evaluate their life circumstances and decide what works best for them.
