In the active voice, both in English and in Spanish, a subject performs an action on a direct object. | In the passive voice, the direct object functions as a subject, the action is received (be + past participle), and the agent (active subject), if mentioned, comes after the preposition by. |
Se pasivo
The se pasivo allows the speaker to express that something is happening or has happened without expressing a definite subject. This structure is formed by using se + verb (conjugated in the 3rd person singular on plural as seen below.
The use of the passive se may be translated in two different ways:
