Artemisia passa per la piazza della Signoria. La piazza della Signoria è una piazza molto grande. Lì c’è una loggia dove ci sono molte statue. Davanti al palazzo. C’è una statua di un leone con uno scudo. Donatello è lo scultore di questo leone. Il leone si chiama Marzocco, il leone tiene fra le sue zampe uno scudo dove c’è un fiore. Il fiore è un giglio. Il nome “Firenze” deriva da fiore, “Fiorenza”.

Artemisia incontra per caso Tommaso.

Artemisia chiama Tommaso: “Ciao Tommaso, cosa fai qui?”

Tommaso: “Ciao Artemisia, che sorpresa! Sono qui perché vado agli Uffizi. Adesso ammiro le belle statue che sono nella loggia dei Lanzi. Ogni statua vuole raccontare una storia. È molto interessante. Ecco vedi questa statua? È il Perseo di Benvenuto Cellini.”

Artemisia: “Vedo delle somiglianza con il David di Michelangelo… oh, vedo che c’è una copia davanti al Palazzo della signoria.”

Tommaso: “ Sì, quello è il posto del vero David. Ho qui con me un libro molto interessante. “Le vite” di Giorgio Vasari”.

Artemisia: “Chi è Giorgio Vasari?”

Tommaso: “Giorgio Vasari è il primo critico d’arte. È anche un architetto e pittore.”
