    Hay

To express the idea of there is or there are, in Spanish we use the expression hay. Don’t forget, the letter h is completely silent.

    Ejemplo:

Hay una pizarra en el salón. There is a blackboard in the classroom.

Ejercicio 6: ¿Qué hay en el salón?

    Part A

    Fill in the Blanks
    Query \(\PageIndex{1}\)

    Part B

Ask your neighbour what is in his/her backpack.

A: ¿Qué hay en tu mochila? What’s in your bag?

    B:Hay _____________.There is/are __________.
