    A Brief Socio-Cultural History of the Spanish-speaking worlds

    Esta rápida historia sociocultural ofrece un vistazo a la cronología de España, desde la Edad Media, y de Hispanoamérica, desde la era precolombina, hasta comienzos del siglo XXI. Sirve como lectura de contexto para los cursos “panorámicos” sobre las literaturas y arte hispánicos que suelen ofrecerse en el tercer año de español en las universidades de Estados Unidos. También es útil como referencia para cualquier clase o conversación alrededor de algún aspecto de las culturas hispánicas.

    This quick Socio-Cultural history provides an overview of the chronology of Spain (from the Middle Ages) and Spanish America (from Pre-Columbian times) to the beginning of the 21st century. It can serve as contextual reading for the "panoramic" courses on Hispanic literatures and art which are often taught on third-year Spanish courses in US universities. It is also useful as a reference for classes or conversations on any aspect of the Spanish cultures.
