    The following contain mistakes from your paragraphs about your best friend. Read each sentence, think about the intended meaning of the sentence. Then find the mistake[s] and correct them. Remember: you are not changing the meaning; you are just correcting the grammar.

    1. My best friend is Rafa, he lives in Peru.

    2. Since I came back, I don't see him very often.

    3. We don't really do nothing exciting.

    4. I have known him since we are children.

    5. Throughout the years, we went shopping, ate in restaurants and did our homework together.

    6. We usually go to the park to play games and watching some silly videos.

    7. I know him almost 30 years.

    8. I didn't see her since I came to the U.S.

     

    Parallel Structure-Use the same form for every item in your list:

    9. We usually do a lot of fun things together like doing our make up, go to parties and dance, watch movies or go to the mall.

     

    Academic Tone-written English vs. Spoken English:

    10. Some of the things we have in common are, we liked the same kind of music, and we also liked to take some trips with my family.

    11. Some things we have done together throughout the years are that we have always participated in community activities such as painting the plaza, planting trees, dancing in some events, and organizing the festival for Mother's Day in our little town.
