Due to the nearly infinite possible combinations of sender and receiver-not to mention the countless types of messages-it is essential to follow the guidance in the previous pages and to consult with your executive staff for tips and techniques specific to your work setting. The first example is a personal letter written in response to a notional inquiry about the format and purpose of the personal letter. This is followed by several "thank you" letters-one with formatting shown; one with an attachment and courtesy copy; and two finished product samples.
