- 2.1: Don't trust AI- sometimes it makes things up
- Chatbots confidently invent cases, citations, and facts, so every claim needs external verification.
- 2.2: Don't trust AI to cite its sources
- Systems often paraphrase scholars without credit, leaving users to trace the real human authors.
- 2.3: Don't trust AI with sensitive information; check the privacy policy
- Anything you write in a chatbot may be stored, reused, or breached; skim the privacy policy and think before pasting personal data.
- 2.4: Don’t trust AI- it’s biased
- Models absorb and amplify social stereotypes, so unchecked use can reinforce discrimination.
- 2.5: Does using AI do harm? If so, should we stop using it?
- Energy, water, IP violations, and exploitative labor are among the harms caused by AI. Deciding what actions individuals and society can take to address this is challenging.
