Information comes in many forms including music, books, video clips, social media posts, friendly advice, and much more. The different ways that you can gain information and learn something are numerous. However, not every source of information is useful for every need. If you need medical advice, information from a family member isn't the same as a doctor.

Also, not every piece of information is delivered with good intent. The world is filled with inaccurate and even intentionally misleading information. You may find yourself needing to fact check an author or identify fake news. This book is focused on helping you identify where useful information comes from, how to recognize suspicious or unreliable information, and how to conduct research that will help you in your classes, in your career, and throughout your life.

It will also introduce you to the ethics of using information. The ultimate goal is to empower you to take charge of your own learning.

    Our Journey...

Chapter 1: Learn about different types of information sources and how to identify the information you need in different situations.

Chapter 2: Learn how to develop research questions and begin the research process.

Chapter 3: Learn about specific search techniques for finding information.

Chapter 4: Learn about library resources and different internet sources.

Chapter 5: Learn how to evaluate a source of information to ensure it is of good quality.

Chapter 6: Learn how to use information ethically.
