Las metodologías presentes ayudarán al estudiante a que se centre en la comunicación en vez de en la precisión gramatical.
El objetivo principal de Anímate es suplementar el aprendizaje del estudiante para que se encamine hacia el nivel avanzado según Las guías de capacidad lingüística del American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages (El Consejo estadounidense para la enseñanza de lenguas extranjeras; véase https://www.actfl.org/publications/guidelines-and-manuals/actfl-proficiency-guidelines-2012/spanish/comunicaci%C3%B3n-oral para más información). El enfoque es en la comunicación oral, la comunicación escrita, la comunicación auditiva, la lectura y las culturas a través de cinco estándares (las conocidas 5 Cs): la comunicación (la comunicación interpersonal, la comunicación interpretativa, la comunicación de presentación), las culturas (relacionando prácticas culturales a las perspectivas, relacionando productos culturales a las perspectivas), las conexiones (haciendo conexiones, adquiriendo información y perspectivas diversas), las comparaciones (las comparaciones lingüísticas entre idiomas, las comparaciones culturales) y las comunidades (las comunidades globales y académicas, el aprendizaje continua de por vida) (The National Standards Collaborative Board. Basándose en los estándares, cada capítulo tiene cinco enfoques de objetivos:
- Objetivos de comunicación interpersonal, interpretativa y formal
- Objetivos de comunidades escolares y globales y de aprendizaje continuo
- Objetivos de comparación lingüística y cultural
- Objetivos de conectividad interdisciplinaria y de perspectivas diversas
- Objetivos de perspectivas culturales y productos culturales
El texto se ha ideado para suplementar cursos de fonología, fonética y dialectología a nivel Intermedio Medio y Intermedio Alto.
