    Scenario 1.1: A kindergarten teacher teaches students to draw a rainbow.

    Note:

    小朋友lit. “little friend,” is a common way to address young children, especially kindergarteners.

    Note:

    什么颜色都不喜欢 is a special structure that combines question words with the adverb 都, which is used to intensify the tone. Note that this structure does not indicate questions. Question words only occur before the adverb 都. Sometimes a subject occurs as a topic of the whole sentence. The pattern is :

    (Topic) + QW + 都 + Verb

    我 什么 都 喜欢。

    (lit. “I everything all like.”)

    More examples:

    哪儿都不想去。 She doesn’t want to go anywhere.

    我谁都不认识。 I don’t know anybody.

    你什么时候来都可以。You can come at any time.

    他哪本书都没买。 He didn’t buy any of the books.

    怎么说都可以。 You can say it however you want.
