The following explanations cover how to use adjectives appropriately. This will allow you to be able to further describe people and things. The types of adjectives covered aid in describing personality and physical aspects.

1. Adjectives are used to describe, modify, or identify nouns and pronouns. 2. Adjectives must agree with the noun they are describing in gender and number. 3. There are different types of nouns like demonstrative, possessive, and descriptive. |
1. Gender: If the noun is feminine, the adjective must match to be feminine. The same is the case for a masculine noun. 2. Number: If the noun is singular, the adjective must match to be singular. The same is the case for a plural noun.

1. These types of adjectives are used to show the position of a noun in time/space. 2. These adjectives precede the noun. 3. They include: Este = this Ese = that (near you) Aquel = that (far or over there)

Agreement Exception: Usually adjectives ending in a consonant, -e, or -ista don’t change for gender. Adjectives for nationality do change.

1. Possessive adjectives are used to show who or what owns something. 2. They agree in gender and number with the owned thing not the owner. 3. There are short and long possessive adjectives. Long ones are used when the possessive follows a noun or with the verb ser. |
