    ¿Para qué sirve y cómo lo uso?

    The following explanations and examples demonstrate how to greet people and introduce yourself in Spanish in a formal or informal setting. In addition, you will learn about the alphabet and numbers in Spanish. The end goal of using this information is to equip you with the necessary information to have your first conversation.

    1. These forms are used to greet someone politely.

    2. They are usually used to address a stranger, an older acquaintance, or a superior.

    3. Instead of the pronoun tú for you usted is used.

    Conversación: On a piece of paper or with a partner greet and introduce yourself to a classmate and to your professor using the informal and formal forms.

    1. Share how you are doing.

    2. Share your age and where you are from.

    3. Ask them how they are doing and where they are from.
