Español 102 consists of six thematically organized chapters presenting essential communicative functions, structures, and cultural information about Spanish-speaking countries.
- Each chapter begins with a page that will list the theme of the activities and let students know what they should be able to do by the end of the chapter.
- The image displayed on the first page will introduce an artist from the featured country of each chapter.
- All chapters have the same organizational structure, and the content is presented as follows:
Vocabulario
- Presented in a meaningful context
- Introduced through visual images
- Vocabulary list with audio (flashcards)
- Practice individually, with a partner, a small group, or the whole class.
Mosaicos culturales
- Exposes students to different aspects of Hispanic Culture
- These cultural aspects are related to the chapter’s theme
- Y ahora Uds... Questions to encourage students to reflect on their own cultural experiences
Estructuras gramaticales
- Provides directed and communicative practice
- Additional tutorial videos to support your learning
- Sample videos with native speakers to model some oral and writing activities
- Writing activity that incorporates the vocabulary, structures, and themes covered in each chapter

- Música is designed to encourage students to listen to and appreciate the featured country’s musical culture.
- Short biography of an important cultural figure in the featured country
