    Exercise 14:  Identify the Subjects, Verbs, and Objects in the following sentences, please.

    1.  The man gave a shotgun to his boy yesterday.

    2.  The dog ran down the street, and suddenly it bit the mailman.

    3.  The woman took her son to the zoo last week.

    4.  My wife cooked dinner for us last night.

    5.  The policeman stopped the motorist for speeding this morning.

    6.  I drive my car to school every morning.

    7.  The man ate his cheeseburger quickly.

    8.  I teach my students to speak English every day.

    9.  The mother had cooked the chicken, and she fed her family before she left.

    10.  The children were singing a song for their parents.

    11.  The boy punched his brother in the nose.

    12.  I dropped my book on the floor.

    13.  The mother lost her sons at the train station.

    14.  The boys drank a Coke before they went to bed.

    15.  The man kissed his children goodnight.

    Exercise 15:  Identify the subjects, verbs, objects, and prepositional phrases in the following sentences, please.

    1. Edward went into the woods with the man from the police department.

    2. The woman found three broken plants on the table in the kitchen.

    3. The teacher gave the homework assignment to the students last night.

    4. Three days ago, my friend spoke to his brother about their father.

    5. She cooked the best food at the party.

    6.  The fourth boy in the first row hit the girl on her arm.

    7.  The most intelligent girl in the class finished the exam in thirty minutes.

    8. The doctor gave an injection to the sick patient.

    9. The clever thief stole the jewelry from the jewelry store.

    10. I had to cut the grass in my back yard two days ago.

    11.  The tired old man failed the driving test at the licensing office yesterday.

    12.  The camel spit into the eye of its owner.
