    Introduzione (Introduction)

By now, you are already familiar with the concept of verbs and conjugation patterns. You have learned how regular and some irregular verbs work in the present tense, and how essential they are for building simple and meaningful sentences. It is always a good idea to go back and review them before moving forward. In this section, we will explore five more irregular but very common verbs: stare, dare, bere, and dire. These verbs appear constantly in daily conversations and in many idiomatic expressions. As you study them, pay close attention to their irregular forms and to the contexts in which they are used—you’ll soon recognize them everywhere!

    Learning Objectives
    • Recognize and conjugate stare, dare, bere, and dire in the present tense.

    • Identify the main differences between these irregular verbs and regular verb patterns.

    • Use these verbs appropriately in simple sentences and everyday expressions.

    • Practice pronunciation and fluency through reading and oral exercises using these verbs in context.
