    Create Your Own Vocabulary List

    Directions 
    Listen to your classmates, the video, or the textbook examples.
    Write down all the hobbies or activities you hear.

    Examples 
    andare al cinema – to go to the movies
    leggere – to read
    ballare – to dance
    giocare a calcio – to play soccer
    ascoltare musica – to listen to music

    Tip: Try to include both common and unique activities that reflect real life

     Compare Your List

    Directions (in English):
    Compare your new vocabulary list with the five pastimes from Attività 1.

    • Which ones are the same?

    • Which ones are new?
      Write two short lists to show your comparison.

    New: cucinare, viaggiare, disegnare

    Speaking Practice – Parla con un compagno

    Directions (in English):
    Ask a partner the following questions in Italian. Take turns asking and answering.
    Write short notes about what your partner says.

    1. Che cosa ti piace fare nel tempo libero?
      (What do you like to do in your free time?)

    2. Quante volte alla settimana fai questa attività?
      (How many times a week do you do this activity?)

    3. Con chi fai questa attività?
      (With whom do you do this activity?)

    After the conversation, share one interesting fact about your partner with the class.

    1. Make a list of all the passatempi you hear and recognize (in Italian).

    2. Underline any that were already mentioned in Attività 1 or 2.

    3. Add new words that interest you or that you’d like to learn.

     

    Class Survey – Interview Your Classmates

    Directions (in English):
    Use your list of hobbies to ask at least five people about their interests and activities. Use the following questions as models:

    • Ti piace ___?
      (Example: Ti piace andare al cinema? – Do you like going to the movies?)

    • Fai ___ nel tempo libero?
      (Example: Fai sport nel tempo libero? – Do you play sports in your free time?)

    • Quando fai questa attività?
      (Example: Quando fai sport? – When do you play sports?)

    Write short notes about each person’s answers.

    Write a Summary

    Directions (in English):
    Write a short paragraph (about 5–6 sentences) summarizing the results of your class survey.
    Follow the example below:

    Example:
    Tre persone ascoltano musica. Due studenti fanno sport. Quattro amici guardano film nel fine settimana.

     Tip: Include numbers and frequency expressions (sempre, spesso, qualche volta, mai) to make your summary more detailed.

    Personal Questions

    Directions (in English):
    Answer the following questions in complete Italian sentences.

    1. Qual è il tuo passatempo preferito tra questi?

    2. C’è un passatempo che non ti piace?

    3. Aggiungi un altro passatempo che ti piace ma non è nel video o nel libro.

    Grammar Practice – I verbi regolari

    Directions (in English):
    Write one sentence for each pastime using a different subject pronoun and a regular verb in the present tense.

    Examples:

    • Noi guardiamo la TV ogni sera.

    • Lui gioca a calcio con gli amici.

    • Io ascolto la musica italiana.

    • Voi ballate il sabato sera.

    • Lei cucina nel tempo libero.

    Bonus Writing Prompt – Il mio tempo libero

    Directions (in English):
    Write a short paragraph (5–6 sentences) about your free time.
    Use at least three regular verbs in Italian and describe:

    • What activities you like or don’t like

    • When and with whom you do them

    • How often you do them

    Example:
    Nel mio tempo libero ascolto la musica e guardo film.
