Ulysses Grant Dietz is an American art historian, curator, and author, renowned for his extensive work in the decorative arts. Serving as the curator of Decorative Arts at The Newark Museum from 1980 until 2017, and appointed Chief Curator in 2012, Dietz curated over 115 exhibitions covering various aspects of decorative arts, including furniture, silver, base metals, glass, ceramics, textiles, and jewelry. He is particularly noted for his work on the Museum’s National Historic Landmark Ballantine House, built in 1885, which he reinterpreted between 1992 and 1994 with a groundbreaking installation called House & Home.
