Entonces, si sabes como leer bien, ¿cómo interpretas bien?
La base de la interpretación analítica es la lectura cercana. Cada lector debe desarrollar su capacidad de usar el envase de la técnica (la lectura cercana) para llenarlo con sus propias interpretaciones.
Esta técnica puede ser particularmente útil en el momento de preparar un ensayo. Cuando haces una lectura cercana, observas hechos y detalles del texto, con un enfoque en una parte en particular o el conjunto. El primer paso es leer con cuidado y hacer observaciones. El segundo paso es interpretar tus observaciones. En breve, tienes que seguir el razonamiento inductivo. Son las primeras dos partes de lo que llamamos “las tres ‘i’”: identificar, interpretar, importancia. Al estudiar más literatura y cultura empezarás a integrar “importancia” a tu análisis también.
Identificar
A través de la lectura cercana verás elementos que identificas que quieres interpretar. Se usa mucho la anotación de los textos para visualizar y sistematizar lo que se identifica al leer.
Interpretar
La anotación implica interpretación en que el lector elige qué anotar y sobre qué poner su atención. Al haber anotado un texto, se puede comenzar el trabajo de análisis. A veces, al analizar también se identifican cosas para la interpretación. Al interpretar, damos significado a lo identificado.
Importancia
En los mejores casos, identificar e interpretar nos lleva a un entendimiento de la importancia de nuestras interpretaciones. Es una manera de pensar en las conclusiones que podemos hacer de la interpretación del texto, pero también es entender los retos que fluyan de la interpretación y su relación con el mundo.
