Rocío envió el mensaje a su amiga y apagó la luz de la mesita de noche. Estaba claro que su roommate no iba a aparecer. Tenía muchas ganas de conocerla, de ser su amiga y de disfrutar de la experiencia universitaria y de Davis con ella. ‘Bueno, ahora no tengo tiempo para preocuparme de eso. Necesito aprender a usar Tinder si quiero tener una cita’, exclamó en voz alta.
A la mañana siguiente Rocío se puso a ver un tutorial de Youtube para saber cómo usar Tinder. Tras configurar su perfil, empezó a probar. Era chistoso leer los perfiles de la gente y se sorprendió al ver cuántos de ellos estaban escritos en español.
‘Qué odias ¿¿¿¿QUÉEEE????? ¿Pero quién odia el fútbol, si es el mejor deporte del mundo?’ – dijo Rocío mientras deslizaba hacia la izquierda para rechazar a Liliana.
Después, leyó el perfil de Amaia y le gustó. Su sueño era hacer un viaje mochilero por el mundo.
El perfil de Jane fue el que más le gustó. No le importaba saber cuál era su segunda pasión. El fútbol era una de ellas. Eso era suficiente.
Después de una hora usando Tinder, Rocío dejó el celular. Creía que haría match pronto, pero no había ninguno todavía. Metió su celular en la mochila y se preparó para ir a clase. Era el primer día Canine Behavior y era la asignatura que más le gustaba de ese trimestre. Ojalá su roommate estuviera allí. No le gustaba estar sola en la habitación y más cuando, por las noches oía ruidos que no sabía identificar. Después de salir de clase, Rocío sacó su celular para escribirle a su madre.
Rocío iba a guardar de nuevo su celular cuando sonó. Era una notificación de Tinder. Su primer match. Al abrir la aplicación, vio que Jane le había escrito un ‘hola’ y una carita sonriente. Rocío se puso nerviosa. Quería responderle algo interesante y original. Tras más de diez minutos escribiendo y borrando, le mandó una respuesta.
Rocío y Jane se despidieron tras unos minutos. Inmediatamente, Rocío escribió a Ely.
