Exercise 3.2: Fill-in-the-Blank
Put the verb into the more suitable form, present progressive, simple present or ‘be going to’. If more than one answer is possible, write all possible answers.

Exercise 3.3: Future Time Clauses
Combine the following sentences to form complex sentences with the conjunctions given. Each new sentence will contain a future time clause. Remember to use simple present in the time clause.
Example: John will retire. He will enjoy more leisure time. (when) ________________________________
When John retires, he will enjoy more leisure time.

Exercise 3.4: Will or Be Going To
Will” and “am/is/are going to” can both be used to make predictions about future. Use the statements to make affirmative or negative predictions about conditions 15 years from now using the statements. Then share your thoughts with your partner. Explain why you feel that way.
Begin your sentences like this: Fifteen years in the future,

Example: There will be no more war in the world. Fifteen years from now, there will still be war in the world.

Exercise 3.5: Fill-in-the-Blank
The following paragraph is about AI technology in the future. Fill in the appropriate tenses with the given verbs. Use: Will, Be Going to, or Simple Present. If two verb forms are possible, write both forms. Remember to use simple present in time clauses when the main clause is about the future. The first question is answered for you.
