    ¿Para qué sirve y cómo lo uso?

    These explanations go in depth with the verb ir and the functionality of using ir + infinitive to talk about actions in the future. In addition, the explanation and conjugations (in the presente tense) of three types of stem changing verbs are discussed.

    Ir + Infinitive

    1. Ir means to go

    2. Ir + a + infinitive is a combination that is used to talk about something that will happen in the future. English: I am going to eat.

    Spanish: Voy a comer.

    1. Ir is an irregular verb with different endings.

    Vas

    El, Ella, Usted Va

    Nosotros/as Vamos

    Vosotros/as Vais

    Ellos, Ellas, Ustedes Van

    Voy a casa.

    I am going home.

    Vas de compras.

    You are going shopping.

    Va de paseo

    He is going for a walk.

    Vamos de vacaciones.

    We are going on vacation.

    Voy a hablar.

    I am going to talk.

    Vas a estudiar.

    You are going to study.

    Va a leer.

    He is going to read.

    Van a abrir hoy.

    They are going to open today.

    2. The stem change doesn’t occur in the present tense with nosotros and vosotros.

    3. Oler and Jugar have the same stem change with a few differences.

    1. To conjugate these verbs drop the ar/er/ir, change the stem, and add the appropriate ending.

    Morir > Mor>Muer
