Low vowels ([ɑ], [a], [ɑ̃]
Nasal low vowel [ɑ̃]
The vowel [ɑ̃] is low, back, unrounded and nasal:
plan, chanter, temps, penser
How open or closed a vowel is pronounced is a question of degree: some are more open or closed than others.
