Las historias orales: En esta entrevista oral, escucharás el testimonio de Lenin Altamirano. 
Biografía: Fulberto Lenin Altamirano Díaz nació el 2 de marzo de 1979 en Managua, Nicaragua. Es el mayor de tres hermanos, hijo de una ama de casa y un mecánico que, con sacrificio y amor, apostaron por la educación como el camino para transformar el destino de su familia. Desde temprano aprendió que la dignidad y el esfuerzo pueden abrir puertas incluso en los contextos más difíciles. Se formó en Relaciones Internacionales y Ciencias Políticas entre 2000 y 2005. Posteriormente estudió Comunicación Social y Periodismo, especializándose en comunicación y marketing orientados a la transformación social y la defensa de los derechos humanos. Durante quince años trabajó en Save the Children como Oficial de Comunicación, liderando la gestión de marca, productos editoriales y digitales, y ejerciendo como vocero institucional. Entre 2017 y 2021 dirigió las áreas de fundraising, marketing y comunicación en Aldeas Infantiles SOS Nicaragua, impulsando estrategias de sostenibilidad financiera e impacto social. En 2021, su vida cambió para siempre. En medio de la crisis política y la represión vivida en Nicaragua, fue convocado como miembro activo de un partido para liderar una campaña de comunicación en apoyo a la candidatura de una opositora al régimen de Daniel Ortega, en lo que debieron ser las elecciones nacionales de ese año. Esto trajo consigo persecución, vigilancia y amenazas que lo obligaron a tomar una decisión extrema: abandonar su país para proteger a su familia. El 21 de junio de 2021 salió de Nicaragua junto a su esposa e hijo. Tras un recorrido marcado por el miedo y la violencia que enfrentan miles de migrantes, solicitó asilo político en Estados Unidos y se estableció en Chicago, donde inició un proceso de adaptación y reconstrucción, acompañado por la iglesia Nueva Vida (New Life en inglés). Desde 2023 se desempeña como especialista en marketing en New Life Centers. Ya hace casi cinco años que Lenin salió de Nicaragua y se ha mantenido junto a su esposa e hijo en el vecindario de Little Village, Chicago, donde han aprendido a adaptarse. En esta biografía Lenin brinda un agradecimiento especial a este proyecto editorial, por preservar las raíces culturales y lingüísticas de los pueblos latinoamericanos en Estados Unidos.
